Boreal Bug Shield Soap

A clean-rinsing field bar for the bugs that find you the moment you step outside.

Mosquitoes, no-see-ums, and the rest of the Alaska summer swarm don’t care whether you’re human or animal—they just want skin. Boreal Bug Shield Soap is the practical answer we reached for on our own homestead: a plain, hard-working cold-process bar built around labrador tea infused oils and cedarwood, two plants long used in the North for keeping insects at a distance. No perfume, no bright citrus, nothing left behind that advertises you to every bug in the brush.

Perfect For:

  • Pre-hike, pre-garden, or pre-chore washing when the bugs are thick
  • Kids, adults, and working dogs who spend real time outdoors
  • Camp, cabin, and trail use when you want a simple, rinse-clean bar
  • Anyone looking for a fragrance-light wash that still carries a quiet botanical shield
  • Everyday washing of skin that sees more mosquitoes than office air

What Makes It Special This is a transparency-first utility bar, not a spa product. We infuse labrador tea into the oils and add cedarwood, then keep the formula short so it rinses clean and stays useful in the field. Every batch is hand-cut on the homestead.

Key Benefits

  • Labrador tea infused oils and cedarwood chosen for their traditional use against biting insects
  • Rinses clean with no heavy scent left on skin or fur
  • A short ingredient list you can read start to finish

How to Use Work into a rich lather with warm water, wash head to toe (or coat to paws), and rinse well. Use before heading outside or as a post-trail clean-up. Set the bar on a draining dish between uses so it dries out and lasts.

Size 4 oz (113 g) bar. Hand-cut, so weight varies slightly bar to bar.

Ingredients Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Water, Labrador Tea (Rhododendron groenlandicum) Infused Oil, Cedarwood Oil

Storage & Care Keep on a well-draining soap dish out of standing water. Stored dry, a cured bar keeps its firmness and lasts for many washes.
